Approach
Material selection
Selected natural fibers in various forms are used – from finely spun to corded. The choice of yarn follows the structural requirements of the respective project.
Structure, surface, and drape emerge from the direct interaction with the material. Each fiber brings its own unique properties, which are taken into account in the design.
The fibers used retain their ability to integrate. They can be worn, change over time, and can be transferred into new contexts.
Materials used
Premium cashmere
Cashmere is obtained from the fine undercoat of the cashmere goat, which lives in highland regions with widely fluctuating temperatures. The sometimes very cold climate is essential for the development of a particularly fine and at the same time heat-insulating fiber.
The undercoat is carefully combed out during the natural shedding process.
The cashmere used is processed in Italy and is characterized by a uniform, smooth texture. The fiber is soft, lightweight, and retains its shape.
It retains heat while being lightweight and lies comfortably against the skin. The knit is clear and precise, and the surface has a natural, subtle sheen.
Cashmere is suitable for work that combines lightness with structural clarity and is worn directly on the skin for extended periods of time.
Eri silk
Red Eri silk is obtained from cocoons collected after the silkworms have hatched. This method of silk production is traditional in parts of India and preserves the natural structure of the fiber.
It lies smoothly and coolly on the skin and has a subtle shimmer.
Besides its fineness, it is characterized by relatively high tear resistance and stability.
Their temperature-balancing properties support smooth transitions and flexible structures.
In combination with other natural fibers, it adds tension to the surface and gives the construction lightness.
Quiviut
Qiviut is the fine undercoat of the musk ox, which lives in the tundra of Greenland, Canada, and Alaska, and is among the rarest natural fibers available. It is harvested in limited quantities.
The fiber is exceptionally soft, elastic, and dimensionally stable. Compared directly to cashmere, Qiviut offers superior warmth at a lower weight and is very easy to care for. It does not shrink and is hardly prone to pilling.
Its airy texture feels light against the skin, while the fiber retains heat exceptionally efficiently. In processing, Qiviut allows for dense, precise structures with high durability over time.
Corozo / Tag nut
Corozo
FRAJULE uses buttons made from corozo, the so-called tagua nut of tropical palm trees. This plant material has a fine, natural grain and a matte, smooth surface.
Corozo is dimensionally stable, durable, and biodegradable. Its density allows for precise embossing and a clear contour in combination with knitted structures.
As a plant-based material, Corozo complements the natural fibers of the works in terms of materiality and durability.

Memory
Every yarn carries stories: of landscapes where animals live, of hands that spin and process, of colors that evoke wind, sea, or light. FRAJULE understands material as a living archive.
When you wear a piece, it becomes part of your own mythology – it absorbs journeys, encounters and moods and returns to your wardrobe as a familiar companion.
Origin & Responsibility
A connection to nature, origin, and durability shape every material choice. A few trusted sources, carefully tested qualities, and individual atelier work form the basis for knitwear that can last for many years and become part of a personal collection.

Cariaggi
Cariaggi spins some of the world's finest cashmere yarns in the heart of the Marche hills in Cagli. More than 60 years of experience, a focus on lightness, and a consistent commitment to sustainability characterize this manufactory – its ultra-fine, light-reflecting yarns form the basis for some of our creations.

Biagioli Modesto
Filati Biagioli Modesto is based in Montale near Florence and has been one of the most trusted names in cashmere and natural yarns for decades. The spinning mill combines careful fiber selection, technical expertise, and respect for animals and their origins – one of the foundations of our artistic work.

MONTELUCE
Monteluce from Japan stands for cotton yarns with an exceptional feel and appearance, inspiring our creativity and enabling new knitting ideas. This material complements our Italian spinning mills with a precise, experimental textural expertise that we find nowhere else.
